Mayor Alan Webber and City Manager John Blair’s lapdog, Water Director Jesse Roach finally speaks to the public about the major increase in water main breaks on his watch. He does this by trotting out statistics and figures that he spent a few days plucking out of thin air and that were never published or reviewed prior to him needing them as an excuse and crutch for his poor performance.
What are his final words on the topic?
‘But, he [Jesse Roach] added, “sometimes stuff happens.”’
I guess two employees engulfed in a toxic work environment in the Water Department which led to the death of one of the employees in a workplace violence incident was an example of Roach’s point, ‘sometimes stuff happens?’
The Water Department’s vacancy rate is through the roof? ‘Sometimes stuff happens…’
Brown water throughout the City for months on end with no relief or explanation in sight? ‘ Sometimes stuff happens…’
An internal investigation into millions of no bid contracts gifted to B & D, Inc, which is owned by Roach’s relatives is ongoing? ‘Sometimes stuff happens…’
Not only is Jesse Roach corrupt, he is incompetent.
Why does Roach still have a job?
Despite recent incidents, city says rate of water issues still low
