Two things that this excellent column failed to include:
(1) Many of Mayor Alan Webber’s out of state donations came from associates of Webber’s mentor Neil Goldschmidt. These donors have publicly acknowledged Goldschmidt’s repeated rape of a 13-year old child, Elizabeth Dunham. The donors also acknowledged Webber’s role in enabling and covering up Goldschmidt’s actions for Webber’s own political gain.
(2) Signe Lindel, who falsely claims to be a recovering alcoholic was videotaped by an SFPD officer displaying intoxicated behavior on the Plaza. During this conversation with the officer, she ridiculed the chief of police and asked if tourists and residents on the Plaza bathed, because she thought they stunk to high heaven…we wonder if it was the liquor on her own breath she was smelling.
‘Consider that Mayor Alan Webber raised and spent $507,000 in his 2021 reelection campaign. City records show most of his contributions came from New Mexico, but Webber also had donors from California, Oregon, Massachusetts, Washington, D.C., and places in between.’
‘Signe Lindell, an east side councilor, in 2021 spent $82,000 in her successful reelection campaign. Her total more than doubled that of her three opponents combined.’
