FIRE JOHN “THE CON” BLAIR!!
“It was my choice that we not share the letter to the governing body when we received it,” Blair said.” There are some complicated policy and political and communication issues related to trying to resolve the issue,” he noted, and said he believed it would be more beneficial to “resolving issues related to that letter” that “the fewer people that knew the better.”’
City Manager John the Con Blair sounds like a Fascist as he tries to justify willfully withholding information from the City Council and the Public.
The fewer people that know, the better?
Is this like the sexual solicitations you’ve been making to younger City employees? Or is it more like the twice a week secret meetings Mayor Alan Webber has been having with Roman Tiger Abeyta for the past year and a half so that developers could pay him off for having his wife Geraldine fast track their building permits for substandard construction on the south side?
Could it be like the secret meetings Webber has had with Neri Holguin and Sandra Weschler where he has directed them to attack anybody that expresses an interest in running for the Mayor’s office that doesn’t have his seal of approval?
Or is it like the secret meetings he has been having with Holguin and Weschler to set up Councilor Jamie Cassutt to run for mayor, along with having Geno Zamora, run to split the Hispanic vote?
Council may want to consider Blair’s act of insubordination as grounds for termination.
Comments on the Santa Fe New Mexican Article:
“I would like to know more about City Manager Blair’s history with the city and role in all of this. Seems like he should be fired simply for his lack of understanding of the concept of transparency. The city works for us, the public. We have a right to access to all documents pertaining to city government in a timely manner. The audits problem is a matter of huge public concern and the public and City Council should not be kept in the dark about the latest developments. The word “report” in the third paragraph should link to the Sept. 25 article in the New Mexican. The link in the second paragraph around the words “sent last month” could then be removed. https://www.santafenewmexican.com/news/local_news/state-overdue-audit-blocks-santa-fe-from-state-capital-funding-outlay/article_4306b25a-5bb8-11ee-b5b0-137e84d8d174.html” |
“It makes even more important to vote in a city councilors independent of this incompetent mayor! No more lap dogs! Wirth, Sid, and Webbers power must be neutralized and Blair fired! As for City councilors being angry why now? Other than Michael Garcia no one has ever questioned the mayor and his administration! Mayor and Blair should both resign!!” |
“Does Villarreal not understand that the public wants to know as much as possible as to what is going on at city hall–not just councilors? Finally last night there was a slight rebellion about the delay of proposed legislation that disappears into a black hole in the CAO. I am still waiting for Michael Garcia to introduce the two drafts I have given council to correct the 35 day absolute deadline and the “discussion” in the appeals ordinance–it will be ONE YEAR in November re proposed discussion corrections…. And if the city wants transparency it is time to terminate Erin McSherry’s tenure at CAO. She insists that you don’t need written decisions with findings and evidence–the city is just doing it out of the kindness of its heart. I guess McSherry has not heard of certain constitutional and statutory requirements including due process…and including 14-3.17 F and I …..Ms McSherry thinks you can hide the law (that is just give parts of subsections of the appeals ordinance rather than the whole ordinance) and she says there is an “interim minutes” subsection=–possibly in the appeals ordinance but of course she could not find it because it does not exist. It is time for the council to demand action–and no we should not wait another year as suggested by Lee Garcia to removal proceedings of these two city officials.” |
“Blair said he chose not to share the letter with councilors earlier in part to prevent the letter from being released to media and becoming public”. The essence of what is wrong here.” |
“I am at wits end with this dysfunctional administration. WE THE PEOPLE deserve so much more. Just end it, start from scratch” |
“When half or more than half of the Councilors are Alan’s flock and John is his Little Bo-Peep, this is just more of the same. Arrogance is Alan and John’s mo. Speaking of Alan’s flock, I find this rich, ““There are reasons why people continue to say we aren’t transparent and there’s a lack of trust,” Councilor Amanda Chavez said.” who couldn’t respond to an email or visit her constituents to save her life. Why Rivera and Villareal aren’t kicking up more dust as lame duck councilors is beyond me.” |
“I think that this administration will do what it wants, when it wants. “Let them eat cake”, right Marie?” |
“Instead of hiding public documents, John Blair should do a better job at hiding his ignorance and arrogance.” |
“Blair needs to be terminated.” |
“So obviously someone needs to file a public records request every day or two for “Every piece of correspondence that comes in to the mayor, and/or to Blair”.” |
“”Blair emphasized the separation of powers between city staff and elected officials.” Is he not offering, as an explanation, a principle that has no application in this context? Seems lame to me. And failing to comply with a rule that has consequences, and then blaming the rule? Also lame. Being transparent about his refusal to be transparent? Staggeringly tone deaf. Webber clearly needs a more politic yes-man.” |
“What an absolute mess this city’s administration and leadership is.” |
“”Blair said he chose not to share the letter with councilors earlier in part to prevent the letter from being released to media and becoming public” Umm. Seems to me Mr. Blair forgets that the city staff works for the people and their elected representatives. And this nonsense about separation of powers would imply the Mayor would have the authority to decide if something had some sort of “executive privilege” but not a staffer. Blair should be fired and if this sort of conduct is indicative of the Mayor’s point of view, we need elections and we need them fast. The public is not a pot of mushrooms, who should be fed B.S. and kept in the dark.” |
“What City Manager Blair did is totally unacceptable and the primary issue is that every City Councilor, one exception, has allowed this behavior and yet they are wanting to “act” as if they are surprised by this disregard of transparency. Councilor Michael Garcia is the only councilor who questioned the late audits, the 22 issues of concerns on the finally submitted so call “good” audit. The Council have allowed this mayhem to happen, they have allowed this total disregard of the public to be notified and they have allowed a complete and total lack of responsibility in all of the malfeasance in so many City departments. Their refusal to acknowledge so many concerning issues including the amount of E-coli being dumped into the Santa Fe River is a total disregard to their elected positions and responsibility they owe to the citizens of Santa Fe.” |
